Action Scripting:Hand in

December 12th, 2006 by klilley

Well am just getting ready to hand in my assignment for action scripting but am disappointed as I couldn’t get my final bit of code to work and was stressing about it all yesterday and in the end had to comment it out and have placed it as one of my bugs. Am uploading it on here for people to view as well butthe two player section will not work unless it’s operating over a flash comms server.

SWF file

But thats the last of action scripting! Next term graphics. whoop

Action Scripting: Almost Complete

December 10th, 2006 by klilley

Well my action scripting project is almost there I am just struggling at the final hurdle where I need the values to be stored into a variable and compared to see which one is the highest number. I ended up getting a bit bored yesterday and was looking at how much code I had (which was not alot) and decided to add a bit more on so now you can draw your own bunny and use drag and drop assets and then print the picture off. Will hopefully complete it all tomorrow when I go into the labs in the morning to test it on the server. If it doesn’t then arghhh panic as it has to be in on tuesday.

ActionScripting - Almost Complete

December 4th, 2006 by klilley

Woo hoo after a weekend of programming my actionscripting is almost complete. All I need to do now is get them communicating over the COMS server, which I am going into uni tomorrow to figure out. I have all the code and now I just need to adapt it to suit my game.

Action Scripting - Final Idea

December 2nd, 2006 by klilley

I came up with an idea for action scripting ages ago but didn’t really like it. So after sitting in a sort of boring lecture this week I came up with a new idea where lecturers and students get to battle out their stresses with each other over the server. Students and lecturers can build and select their own weapons and take their online selves to battle each other. Who ever has the best powers, defense and super powers will end up winning and the opposition will have to hang their head in shame.

Who will come out on top??

Action Scripting

November 2nd, 2006 by klilley

Have FINALLY managed to sit down and actually think about action scripting. The brief is to ‘make something that does something’ that comminicates over the flash comms server. I am going to make a sound game where a user is trapped on one side of the door with a keypad and the other user on the other side of the door with another keypad.

Each number on the keypad with have an individual beep. The user that is trapped with be played a tune made up of the beeps, which they must then duplicate - they only have two attempts of doing this. Once they think the tune is complete they send is to the user on the other side of the door. Who then has two attempts of trying to duplicate what the other person has sent them.

If both tunes match the original they pass onto the next level, which would be a longer tune to duplicate (I do not plan on making a next level as this is only a 10 credit module). If they fail to get the correct tune the game is over.
